Our Experience:

We arrived on a lovely sunny day at the Marriott hotel in Preston they were in the process of having a wedding the gardens, which was a beautiful and spectacular setting for the wedding photo's.

On arrival we checked in and went to our room to drop our bags off. The room was nice clean spacious and as always the bed large and sumptuous with really big fluffy pillows.

After unpacking we decided to explore what the hotel had to offer, firstly we followed signs for the leisure facilities. The spa and pool were amazing, the pool looked out on a secluded seating area with sun loungers, and it was such a beautiful day it was a sun trap, nice warm and peaceful.

We then headed back towards our room checking out the restaurant where on arrival we had booked our evening meal, it is also where breakfast is served.

The bar was bright, airy, and a nice cool refuge away from the heat of the sun so we obviously dallied to enjoy a glass or two of wine before heading back to the room to get changed for our evening meal.

The restaurant staff as always were very polite and helpful talking us through the specialties of the night, I opted for the pate which I had had before on a previous occasion and I can definitely recommend it. For my main course I opted for a chicken curry with rice and a side order of chips. To wash it down I had a glass of Prosecco which was delicious. Stephen meanwhile went for the vegetarian starter followed by pan fried sea bass with vegetables of the day and fries, breaking with tradition he decided on a glass of the house red which he said was really enjoyable. Of course he left room for a sweet, the White chocolate cheese cake which he said was amazing.

After dinner we retired to the bar area, watched a bit of TV and had a few drinks before heading off to bed. It was nice being on the ground floor as we were able to have the windows open allowing a nice cool breeze to come in.

Following a good nights sleep we were up bright and early for breakfast, I went for the full English breakfast whilst Stephen went for the continental option, again the Staff couldn't do enough, not just for us but all residents.

After a lovely breakfast we needed to burn off some of those calories so headed off to the pool, it was really quiet when we first got there so we were able to have a good swim followed by a jacuzzi before another family came in. I also went and a relaxing steam before showering and getting ready before heading back to our room.

The hotel must have originally been a Mansion house and then extended to form a quadrangle with an open court yard in the centre which was great because lots of people where outside enjoying the sun and having a coffee and reading the papers.

Before checking out we decided to have a walk in the hotel grounds which was just so nice and after a night at the the Preston Marriott we left feeling chilled and totally refreshed.
