If you’re getting your family and yourself ready for your summer holiday, packing all the essentials and double-checking that you haven’t forgotten the most important items is crutial- But are you amoung the majority of Brits whose suitcase contains a box of tea bags? And are you already missing the comfort of your own bed?

It seems that it’s the little things that make a big difference when away on holiday. Despite being on an exciting holiday filled with sunshine, one in five Brits revealed that they miss a ‘proper’ cup of tea.

Ebookers, one of Europe’s largest online travel agents, carried out the research and found that a further 42% of Brits admitted to missing their own bed more than they miss their family and friends.

Many travellers said that the item just as important as their passport is their smartphone with 80% of 18 to 25 year olds admitting to this.

We hold technology in high regard as 24% of Brits admit that they would not set foot on a plane without their tablet. Women also won’t part from their beauty equipment with 23% of women ‘wouldn’t dream of going abroad without hair straighteners'.

Brits are keen to jet off as almost half the nation ensure that they are packed and ready to go at least a week before take off.

During the summer escape, however, 23% of Brits will pine for their pets and one in 10 will miss their favourite TV series.

Top 10 things we miss the most on holiday:

1. Our own bed

2. Our pet

3. Our own toilet

4. Tea bags

5. Wifi
