The Moai at Easter Island

The Moai at Easter Island

Summer is approaching, and we know you can't help but let the feeling of adventure take hold.

It's the 'bucket list' season, where we find ourselves day dreaming daily about living life while we're young, and visiting exotic and interesting places with the people we love most.

To fuel your fantasies, or maybe realities, we've put together five spectacular 'once in a lifetime' experiences for you to add to your bucket list.

Helicopter Around The Grand Canyon

While the Grand Canyon is a common name around the globe, not many people have had the chance to actually marvel at it's enormity, especially from a bird's eye view.

Helicopter is the perfect way to see the mile long rivers, vast painted deserts, and sandstone canyons. The wrap around glass of the helicopter, and sheer height of the experience, gives you a view that not many have had to opportunity to see.

As well the outstanding sights, you also get a personal guide to inform you about the wonderous history of the canyon, which spans over 40 million years.

Scuba Dive At The Great Barrier Reef

Scuba Diving at The Great Barrier Reef gives you the opportunity to view sealife like you've never seen it before.

The variety of sea creatures, and the beauty of the coral draws in vast crowds annually- but don't let that put you off. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven wonders of the natural world, and a huge natural heritage site, so there's plenty to see.

The diving experience is offered to experts or beginners, and gives the opportunity to see an abundance of cool marine life, including wrays, sea turtles and even sharks.

Be Dazzled by The Northern Lights

The Northern Lights is one of the more mysterious sights. Found only at night, in few places, this spectacular phenomena is fast becoming a must-see,

A night tour gives you the opportunity to gaze at the wondrous, encompassing lights swirling above you, as you wrap up warm in the arctic air.

The Lights can be found anywhere over 60 degrees latitude, but are most common in Icleand where night tours are offered.

Experience Easter Island

Found in Chile, Easter Island is one of the most isolated islands in the world. It's famed for the Moai, which are ruins of stone busts that are centuries old.

The Moai are common on the island, and fragile ruins can be seen all over.

Although Easter Island relies mainly on tourism, you can experience the culture of the place by visiting, making it an all round once in a life time experience.

Climb to Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is described as 'the trip of a lifetime'. It's the ruins of a 550 year old city, built by a very advanced pre-columbian society, and set in the heights of the Peruvian Andes.

It can be found at the end point of the Inca Trail, which is a popular mountainous hike travelling through beautiful sub-tropical forests and high altitude mountain peaks.

Machu Picchu is not one to miss, and as a result, draws in huge crowds every year. Go before 11am, or after 3pm to avoid the busiest tourist times.

You will not regret this visit.
