Brits have ditched the heavy load of luggage and are choosing to travel light, a recent survey from the popular site, eBay, has revealed.

Cabin luggage is proving popular amongst the site, with the attraction of a smaller case, that can be used as hand luggage, we are opting for a more easy-to-use, way of travelling.

Gone are the days of unexpected luggage charges and waiting around to collect your baggage. EBay’s study shows that sales were up 75% on the cabin luggage compared to this time last year. Brits are opting for a stress free start to their holiday by travelling with smaller and easier luggage.

As our cases are getting smaller, so are our holiday essentials. The study taken by eBay, showed that mini toiletry bottles are proving popular, as the sales of these products have also risen year on year by 56%, and we aren’t just stopping there! Vacuum pack bags have soared by a massive 105% on eBay’s website, proving that we are really trying everything and anything to travel light.

A study from the eBay website has shown that people favour smaller cases to ensure that their holiday gets off to the best start possible. The eBay website spokesman, Steven Heywood said, “Cabin luggage has always been a popular choice on the site, however this year’s sales have soared sky high, overtaking larger luggage sales two to one and an uplift of 75%compared to this time last year.”

He added: “There are currently over 100,000 luggage listings on the eBay website, making this the perfect site to find your ideal suitcase to accompany you this summer.”

SkyScanner’s travel editor, Sam Baldwin, says that writing lists will ensure that you are only bringing the necessities with you on your holiday. “Be ruthless with your packing and only take what you really need.”
