If you've been keeping up with the sensational first season of Penny Dreadful, you'll now be familiar with Reeve Carney who plays Dorian Gray in the series.

Putting his own stamp on the enigmatic character, Reeve has drawn viewers in just as closely as the ladies and gentlemen of London who find Dorian so alluring.

With a penchant for sex, living in the moment and getting whatever he desires, he's a man that should be deplorable, but the charm exuberated by the actor playing him means you can't help but have a soft spot for Mr. Gray.

So, because of the major love for Reeve, we've brought together ten facts you may or may not have known about him.

1) He's also a singer, who has released to-date, two EPs, one studio album and one live album. He's also appeared on the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, The Tempest and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark because...

2) He appeared in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark as lead character Peter Parker for a total of three years, playing his final date on September 15, 2013.

3) Taylor Swift cast him as her love interest in the music video for 'I Knew You Were Trouble', which is reportedly written about her whirlwind romance with One Direction's Harry Styles.

4) His uncle was also an actor - Art Carney - who died in 2003 and played Harry Coombes in Harry and Tonto, which earned him both a Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Actor.

5) He played guitar professionally from the age of 15 at B.B King's night club in Los Angeles, California.

6) He dated Ashley Green for a period of ten months, but the two called time on their romance reportedly because of her hectic schedule.

7) He's signed up as a Givenik Ambassador - a system that allows customers to get tickets for Broadway shows with 5% of their money going to their favourite charity.

8) He's won praise from Lana Del Rey. The pair have exchanged pleasantries through Twitter in the past, lashing each other with love for one another's work.
