Alan Halsall Too Busy For Kids

Alan Halsall says he's too busy focusing on his career to have children.

The actor - who is engaged to his former 'Coronation Street' co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson - would love to have a family at some stage in his life but is quite happy putting work first.

He said: "Lucy-Jo and I both have our careers, so having children isn't something we're thinking about. We'll think about it in a few years' time, but it won't be anytime soon."

Although he has no plans to become a father yet, Alan can't wait to make Lucy-Jo his wife.

The star - who has been dating the 'Wild at Heart' actress since 2005 - said: "I'm excited about getting married. I have been since we started living together - I knew then that I'd ask her to marry me."

Alan also admitted he hated doing love scenes with his former on-screen girlfriend Samia Smith because she felt too much like a sister.

He revealed: "I hated doing love scenes with Samia Smith. I've known her for so long that it was like kissing your sister - but a very sexy sister, don't get me wrong. Once, i ate a clove of garlic just before a kissing scene to wind her up!"
