Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber has prostate cancer.
The composer - mastermind behind talent shows including 'Any Dream Will Do', 'I'd Do Anything', and 'How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?' - is believed to be in the "very early stages" of the disease.
Despite his potentially-fatal diagnosis, Andrew has vowed to beat the condition and wants to be back at work by the end of the year.
He has told us, 'The show will go on!'
The 61-year-old star's spokesman said: "Andrew's condition is in its very early stages. He is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year."
A close friend added to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "He has told us, 'The show will go on!' "
Andrew is set for a very busy year in 2010, with a BBC TV series searching for cast members for a new production of 'The Wizard of Oz', and his new musical 'Love Never Dies', the sequel to his hit 'Phantom of the Opera'.
