Declan Donnelly is building his own jungle.

The 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' host has developed a passion for tropical plants after nine series presenting the reality show - which is filmed in the Australian outback - and is having a special hothouse constructed in the basement of his London mansion.

A friend of the star told The Sun newspaper: "Dec has become quite a tropical plant fan in recent years. He got the bug soon after he started presenting 'I'm A Celebrity'.

"The plant room has a special thermostat to keep it hot. By the time he returns from Australia next month the room should be filled with a variety of tropical plants from around the world - including several varieties from Down Under.

"All he needs now is a treehouse in the back garden and he'll have recreated the whole ITV jungle set at home! There's also going to be a gym, cinema, wine cellar and pool room at the property."

Dec's new home is just doors away from presenting partner and best friend Ant McPartlin's property in Chiswick, West London.

According to plans for the house, Dec has even applied to make alterations to mirror the front of Ant and wife Lisa's home, with a gated black fence between tall brick pillars
