The star, who plays gay factory worker Sean Tully in the soap, has purchased a house with Peter, whom he met on the set of the show.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "He and Peter are so much in love. They have exchanged rings to show they are as good as a married couple, although they haven't had a civil ceremony."

Peter, 31, and Antony, 34, first met on 'Coronation Street' nearly five years ago, and the actor split with his former partner Damian Gray to be with him.

A friend said: "Antony never wanted to hurt anyone but he realised he loved Peter."

The pair have purchased a house on the outskirts of Rochester which they have begun to decorate.

Prior to playing Sean in 'Coronation Street', Antony played Alexander Perry in Channel 4 series 'Queer as Folk'.
