Coronation Street's Becky McDonald "blames herself" after she miscarries her baby.
The outspoken barmaid - who is portrayed by actress Katherine Kelly - is devastated when her baby dream turns into a nightmare when and she loses the unborn tot she is expecting with her husband Steve (Simon Gregson).
Katherine - who's portrayed the reformed bad girl since 2006 - revealed: "Becky blames herself for her miscarriage. She's devastated and comes out of the loo and proceeds to get blind drunk."
However, the couple's heartache is short lived Becky quickly falls pregnant again.
I would like to see Becky with a baby, dressing it in ridiculous clothes, palming it off on Roy and Hayley and probably forgetting it outside the shops.
But after a second miscarriage, she realises there must be something seriously wrong.
As the couple cope with the loss of their two babies, the taxi driver suggests they try In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) to help them conceive once more.
However, medical experts tell them the expensive fertility treatment is unlikely to help them have a child - as Becky has an abnormality in her womb.
After being told the devastating news, the character sobs: "When every other woman imagines a baby in her womb she imagines it snug and cosy. But not me. Every baby I've ever had in mine has died."
Katherine is disappointed for her alter-ego too.
She added: "I would like to see Becky with a baby, dressing it in ridiculous clothes, palming it off on Roy and Hayley and probably forgetting it outside the shops."
