The former 'Beverly Hills 90210' actor has signed up for the new series of the popular comedy drama, which also stars Eva Longoria Parker, Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman.

According to reports Brian will play a hunky contractor in his 30s, who catches the eye of some of his female neighbours and his role will be reoccurring.

Brian - who married sexy actress Megan Fox in a private ceremony last month - is not to the first star to win a part in the show.

German supermodel Heidi Klum recently filmed a guest role in which she played herself alongside Swedish model Paulina Porizkova.

John Barrowman has also played a bad guy in the latest dramatic storyline on the series.

Ahead of his scenes, John admitted he thought people will be surprised by his performance because it was "completely different" from his usual roles.

He said: "It's definitely going to be something completely different from what people have seen me do before. It'll have no campness about it."
