Buzz Aldrin was the second celebrity to be voted off 'Dancing with the Stars' yesterday (06.04.10).

The astronaut - who famously became the second man to set foot on the moon after Neil Armstrong - scored the lowest marks from the judging panel with just 13, and when this was combined with viewer votes the 80-year-old contestant was placed last.

I did this show for the fighter pilots out there, the military people and the elder geezers like me who would just like to see an elder come back week after week.

Buzz performed a waltz with his dance partner Ashley Costa during the US TV show, which told the story of a soldier returning home to be greeted by his daughter.

After hearing of his defeat, Buzz said: "I did this show for the fighter pilots out there, the military people and the elder geezers like me who would just like to see an elder come back week after week."

TV personality Kate Gosselin and her professional partner Tony Dovolani were saved in the dance-off against Buzz.

Olympic figure skating gold medallist Evan Lysacek and partner Anna Trebunskaya, and Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and her professional partner, Derek Hough are already emerging as frontrunners after two weeks on the show.

Meanwhile, newsreader Erin Andrews bravely continued to dance on the show despite receiving death threats.

'Dancing with the Stars' continues next Monday at 8pm on ABC.
