Dannii Minogue's Rachel denial

'The X Factor' judge Dannii Minogue has denied any split between her and show contestant Rachel Hylton.

Reports had been circulating that Rachel had parted ways with Dannii but Dannii has rubbished these claims, saying she has been working with Rachel on her songs for the show this Saturday (08.11.08).

Speaking at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year 2008 Awards in London last night (05.11.08), Dannii added: "But Rachel's been so brave to stand up in front of everybody and say, 'This is me, this is what I've been through and this is who I am.' I just hope everybody gives her that chance on stage on Saturday.

"I am mortified that Rachel is being portrayed as a diva. I don't think people understand her, she's so nervous onstage."

Australian-born Dannii, 37, mentors the over-25s category on the show and her contestants face a nerve-wracking week with a tribute show to Mariah Carey. The show will see the eight remaining acts perform on stage with the American singer.

Rachel and Austin Drage received the least number of votes in last Saturday's show and Austin was voted off by the judging panel, which also includes Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole.
