Dannii Minogue Set For Sharon Showdown

Dannii Minogue is scared Sharon Osbourne will attack her at Simon Cowell's 50th birthday party on Saturday night (03.10.09).

'The X Factor' judge has asked her ex-rugby player boyfriend Kris Smith to attend the bash to "protect" her from her nemesis, whom she clashed with after they were both appointed panellists on the show.

An insider said: "Dannii and Sharon have not seen or spoken to one another for almost two years. All eyes will be on them.

"Let's hope they make their peace for Simon's big Five O. Dannii's taking Kris along for protection."

Sharon, 56, was furious when Dannii joined the ITV singing contest's judging panel in 2007.

She has publicly blasted the Australian star on several occasions, branding her an "insect" with no sense of humour and saying she has "bad plastic surgery".

Sharon said: "She was like a mosquito, when you're on holiday and you shout: 'Oh go away.'

"But week after week she was still there."

Sharon quit the 'X Factor' in 2008 after one series alongside Dannii and was replaced by current judge Cheryl Cole.

Dannii has never publicly attacked Sharon, but is said to be scared of a confrontation at the party - to be held at Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire.

Also expected to attend are Dannii's sister Kylie, supermodel Kate Moss, Sir Elton John and fellow 'X Factor' judges Louis Walsh and Cheryl.

Sharon's spokesman has denied the 56-year-old star is planning a catfight, saying: "Sharon will be one of 500 guests at this party. I doubt she and Dannii will even meet."
