Former 'X Factor' star Diana Vickers has landed a role in a West End musical.
The 18-year-old singer - who came fourth in last year's series of the hit UK TV talent contest - will play the lead in a new revival of 'The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice' in London.
The part of Laura - a shy, lonely girl who impersonates classic singers including Edith Piaf and Shirley Bassey - was originally played by actress Jane Horrocks, who went on to star in the movie version of the production, 1998's 'Little Voice'.
Rehearsals for the play are due to begin this month, with the show opening in the autumn.
Diana's last public performance was at a live concert in Barnstaple in support of the Devon Games To Inspire, a sports contest for children earlier this week.
She sang a duet with fellow former 'X Factor' star Ruth Lorenzo, a cover of Snow Patrol's hit 'Run'.
Unlike other former contestants, she has yet to release any music.
'X Factor' returns to ITV next month.
The X Factor might be the bane of some folks’ lives thanks to a certain pair of twins who keep appearing on the show week after week, but as we’re trying to determine who we’d most like to go on a hot date with this morning, we thought we’d open the floodgates to your views.
