Emily Atack isn't a "ditsy blonde bimbo".

I'm dying to do a drama. I want a part playing a really ugly geek, with no make-up and my hair all tied back so I could just be a character without worrying how I look.

The 20-year-old actress - who is one of the eight remaining contestants on ITV1's 'Dancing On Ice' - likes it when people have pre-conceived ideas about her because it means she gets to surprise them.

The actress revealed: "I know some people look at me, see all the blonde hair and make-up and presume I'm some ditsy blonde bimbo. But I'm not.

"It's good if people have to rethink their ideas."

Emily - who is best known for her role as sixth-former Charlotte Hinchcliffe in the cult comedy 'The Inbetweeners' - hopes to branch out into more serious roles when the ice-skating series is over, so she doesn't have to worry about her appearance as much.

She revealed to The Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm dying to do a drama. I want a part playing a really ugly geek, with no make-up and my hair all tied back so I could just be a character without worrying how I look."

For the moment though, the 20-year-old blonde is focussing on improving her ice-dancing skills.

She added: "I'm never going to be the best skater, but I feel like I'm getting better."
