Roxanne Pallett wants to star in a musical when she leaves 'Emmerdale'.

The actress - who plays Jo Sugden in the ITV soap - admits she is looking forward to leaving the show because her emotional scenes have started to take their toll on her.

She said: "I'd love to do a musical. I'd like to have a crack at someone who smiles for a change, as all I have done for months is cry."

Roxanne, 25, also spoke about her recent weight gain, putting it down to a medical problem.

She added to New! magazine: "I put on weight earlier this year due to a thyroid problem and went from a size six to a 10. It's getting sorted now, but there's nothing wrong with putting on a bit of weight."

Roxanne - who appeared in TV singing show 'Soapstar Superstar' in 2006 - recently revealed she would love to perform with the Rolling Stones if she was given the chance.

When asked who would be her favourite person to duet with, Roxanne said: "Probably a band such as the Rolling Stones - I am a big fan. I grew up with their music and have seen them in concert."
