Fearne Cotton has vowed not to let recent death threats affect her.

The TV and radio presenter - who was sent a string of abusive text messages during her Radio 1 show on Sunday (19.07.09) - has told friends she will continue working as usual and is determined to put the incident behind her.

She told a friend: "I'm not going to stay at home and lock myself away out of fear of someone on the end of the phone.

Fearne loves her job and there's no way she was going to let anyone down by not coming back to work

"I'm back at work and it's business as usual. The police acted quickly and cautioned someone - I'd be more worried if that hadn't happened."

It is understood the 27-year-old presenter was targeted after it was announced she would be replacing BBC Radio 1 presenter Jo Wiley in a weekday morning slot on the station.

He friend told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Fearne loves her job and there's no way she was going to let anyone down by not coming back to work.

"It's a frightening think to happen o anyone but Fearne is putting a brave face on it and concentrating on work."
