Ricky Gervais will be Graham Norton's first BBC One talk show guest.

The Irish comic is delighted to have landed the 'Extras' star - a regular on Graham's rival host Jonathan Ross' programme - for his debut show on his new station.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Ricky may be pals with Jonathan but he has more fun with Graham. The other guests are Ozzy Osbourne and Olivia Newton-John so there should be plenty of laughs."

The 'Any Dream Will Do' host has recently been linked with a move from the BBC to rival network Channel 4 - where he originally found fame with his raunchy 'So Graham Norton' show - but insiders insist the speculation is wide of the mark.

The source added: "He's waited years to get to this stage with the chat show. Why would he throw it away now?"

'The Graham Norton Show' has previously aired on BBC2 but will switch to its sister station for its latest series.

Jonathan starts the latest series of his 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross' show tonight (04.09.09), which will feature Ricky, alongside pop star Mika and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.

'The Graham Norton Show' will return later in the autumn.
