The comedic TV star - who is rumoured to be in talks to replace Jonathan when he leaves the BBC - is saddened he will no longer be able to watch the outspoken star's show after he quits the network and insists Jonathan's departure will not have any benefit on his own career.

He said: "I wouldn't say I was pleased that Jonathan is leaving. Professionally it doesn't really make a difference to me, as a fan I'm going to miss his show."

I wouldn't say I was pleased that Jonathan is leaving. Professionally it doesn't really make a difference to me, as a fan I'm going to miss his show.

The pair have not always had a smooth relationship, and tensions first arose when Jonathan made a mockery of Graham's 'Totally Saturday' series, claiming it was not good enough.

At the time, Jonathan said: "Poor Graham, I feel for him watching that show."

Although Graham will miss watching Jonathan's interview celebrities on his programme, the 46-year-old star is keen to push his own career as a chat show host forward and would love to interview pop star Madonna.

He told the Daily Express newspaper: "I've asked her to be on my shows a few times but it's never worked out as she has never been promoting anything at the time that I'm filming."
