Hannah Ashworth's Shocking Exit

'Hollyoaks' Hannah Ashworth's attempts at starting fresh turn sour when she ends up her ex-boyfriend's hostage.

The troubled soap character, played by Emma Rigby, has slipped back into her eating disorder in recent weeks, and the idea of a clean break in a new country with the love of her life, Jamie, and getting away from Hollyoaks are appealing.

But things quickly take a turn for the worse at it turns out Jamie owes money to drug dealer Blue, who comes to seek revenge.

Emma explained: "She has no idea Jamie's on the run because he's terrified Blue will catch up with him.

"Their flight is delayed and they're in a hotel when Blue turns up wanting £5,000 Jamie took."

The incident quickly turns violent and not even the arrival of Hannah's casually attached husband, Darren Osbourne (Ashley Taylor Dawson), can stop things turning violent.

Emma continued: "There's a fight and Blue gets stabbed, then when Darren comes to rescue Hannah, Jamie takes her hostage, then Darren gets stabbed too."

Departing actress Emma said his heroic efforts aren't enough to convince her character to stay however.

She added: "Darren tries to persuade her to stay, but as I'm leaving he obviously doesn't succeed."
