The former 'Emmerdale' actress is popular with both the judges and the public – scoring a perfect 30 points with professional partner Daniel Whiston on the show last Sunday (07.03.10) – but the other four remaining contestants are said to be gossiping behind her back.

One celebrity appearing on the show, speaking under condition of anonymity to The People newspaper, said: "Hayley and Dan definitely are not popular within the group - they haven't made much effort to get involved. It would be fair to say that several people dislike her, even hate her. She is the butt of a lot of b****ing sessions."

The source also claimed Hayley has had more chance to polish up her skating skills than the other remaining contestants - Kieron Richardson, Gary Lucy, Danny Young, Danniella Westbrook – because she has been on standby to appear on the show for two years.

The source added: "Nobody else really stands a chance. She's had two years knowing there was a high chance she was going on, so she has put the preparation in. The talk among some is that it is a fix."

A spokesperson for 'Dancing On Ice', however, denies these claims, saying Hayley, 33, had no experience of skating before competing in the show.

They said: "Hayley has never been a standby contestant. She told us she has never skated before."

Hayley has also denied she is seeking any preferential treatment, and won't let producers exploit the injuries she has received in training in a bid to gain public sympathy.

She said last week: "I've strained both sides of my groin, have given myself whiplash by falling over and straining my neck, all the muscles from my ears to my back were in spasm.
