James Corden has filmed a sketch for 'Comic Relief' ridiculing the England football squad.

The sketch will see the 'Gavin and Stacey' star posing as manager of the England team and delivering a motivational speech to players including John Terry, David Beckham, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand.

The sketch will be included in the Red Nose Day charity appeal by the BBC, which takes place on March 13.

The source added: It was hysterical

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Nine of the senior members of the first team agreed to do it on Monday. They were all willing to send themselves up for the sketch and played along with the joke.

"A few of the lads were a bit reluctant at first but by the end of it they were really in the spirit of things."

The climax of the scene sees James deliver a speech based on elements of the John Barnes rap - a verse supplied by the former England player for England's 1990 World Cup campaign song 'World in Motion' by New Order.

The source added: "It was hysterical. The players loved it. It was like a scene from the film 'Mike Bassett England Manager'."
