James Corden's mum is his comedy inspiration.

The comic actor - who co-writes sit-com 'Gavin and Stacey' with Ruth Jones - says he gets some of his best lines for the show from spending time with his family.

He explained: "My family are some of the funniest people I know. Some of the stuff my mum comes out with is straight from her mouth and into the mouth of Pam from the show. The other day, my dad and I were eating ham from the fridge and mum said, 'I buy all this food and all you lot ever do is eat it.' Quite what she wanted us to do with it, I don't know..."

The final series of the show is currently screening in the UK and James admits he is terrified he will never write anything as good ever again.

He added: "I think it's probably the best stuff I've done so far. My biggest worry is whether I can do anything else that tops it. Once it's finished, all the success that came with the show will vanish just as quickly. It's easy to get seduced by the attention, so that will be the hardest thing to escape."
