Jeff Brazier has vowed not to let Jack Tweed see Jade Goody's children again.
The presenter insists Jack - who is currently on remand in prison over rape allegations - won't be allowed access to his sons Bobby, six, and Freddy, five, despite the reality TV star's will stating she wanted her husband to be involved in their upbringing.
Jeff - who became the boys' guardian after Jade died of cancer in March - said: "With everything that's happened, it's just proved too much for me to ever imagine Jack seeing the children again.
"I don't say that as a punishment to Jack. I say that as the father of my children. They just deserve a lot better.
"I respect Jade's wishes, but it's my right to put a little common sense into that equation.
"If I feel what she wanted will be detrimental to the children because of situations that have developed since her death then I'm going to do something about it."
Jeff insists the rape allegations, which resulted in Jack's arrest on September 4, didn't influence his decision and he also doesn't believe Jack wanted to stay in the children's lives.
He added to Britain's News of the World newspaper: "We have no reason to be in touch. I was in the process of communicating that to him.
"I don't think he was very accepting of it, then he got arrested. I was like, 'That's what I'm talking about.' But he only saw the kids a handful of times. He made a token effort just after Jade died.
We have no reason to be in touch. I was in the process of communicating that to him.
"Then it developed to Jack being in trouble and living at a place where the kids were never able to go. It just got steadily worse.
"I'm not surprised that this is the conclusion six months after Jade's death."
Jeff has also warned Jade's mum Jackiey Budden he will restrict her access to his sons if she doesn't alter her behaviour.
The presenter was horrified when he learned that Jackiey - who lost the use of her arm in a motorcycling accident - had sworn in front of the children.
He said: "I don't see eye to eye with Jackiey. She knows that.
"We have spoken and I believe every effort will be made on her part to improve. One thing I will always respect is that my children love their Nanny Bad Arm. So they can see her as long as she doesn't do anything to seriously jeopardise the situation.
"It's down to Jackiey now to show she can do a good job of being a nan. She needs to have the same standards I set for my children."
