'Hollyoaks Later' star Amy Walsh has revealed her alter-ego will cause "trouble" in the show.

The 21-year-old sister of Girls Aloud singer Kimberley is set to star as newcomer Jennifique McQueen - the cousin of Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) - in the late-night spin-off of Channel 4 soap 'Hollyoaks', and she explained her character will provide "quite a bit" of controversy in the five-episode E4 programme.

It turns out that Jennifique is dating one of Mercedes's exes, so that doesn't go down well.

She said: "Well, she's going to be causing quite a bit of trouble! She's very brazen and likes stealing things. The show focuses on Mercedes' hen do and when Jenifique arrives, all hell breaks loose.

"It turns out that Jennifique is dating one of Mercedes's exes, so that doesn't go down well."

Amy - who will first be seen on the show when she catches up with her family at Mercedes' hen party - admitted her alter-ego is "very feisty", but she ultimately possesses "very similar" characteristics to her onscreen cousin.

She added to OK Extra: "Jennifique's a great character. She looks up to Mercedes, but [Mercedes] doesn't like her and calls her the 'annoying stalker' cousin. But actually the two are very similar. Jennifique's very feisty, but she's a dreamer and a bit naïve.

"I'm so thrilled to be joining the show and I couldn't have asked for a better part. The McQueens are such a huge part of Hollyoaks."
