John Barrowman is reportedly set to receive a staggering £270,000 for appearing in pantomime 'Robin Hood'.

The 'Torchwood' star - who will star as the title character in the show at the Birmingham Hippodrome from December 19 to February 1 - will be paid a massive £45,000 for every week he appears in the pantomime.

The fee is a huge amount when compared to the pay of pantomime legends Cilla Black and Brian Conley, who will each receive £40,000-a-week for their pantomime roles this Christmas.

It was recently reported John - who shot to fame starring as Captain Jack in 'Doctor Who' and now has his own spin-off 'Torchwood' - is set to star in his own prime-time entertainment show on BBC on Saturday night.

He has met up with producers at the BBC, and discussed plans to develop a variety-style show. He is said to be filming a pilot later this year, which will be shown next Spring.
