John Partridge wants to be a "big gay uncle" to Laurie Brett's daughter.

Johnny Partridge says he's Erin's big gay uncle and he's going to buy her really trendy clothes.

After Laurie gave birth to her first child Erin Anne Millie Brett, weighing 6lb 2oz, in May, her 'EastEnders' co-star - who plays her alter-ego Jane Beale's on-screen brother Christian Clarke in the BBC One soap - quickly assumed the role of "trendy" uncle.

She said: "Johnny Partridge says he's Erin's big gay uncle and he's going to buy her really trendy clothes."

Despite loving being a first-time mum at the age of 42, Laurie - who met Erin's dad, actor Johnny Milroy, 13 months ago - admitted she is missing working on 'EastEnders', and is thrilled soap bosses have asked her to return to the role of Jane when her maternity leave is over.

She added to Hello! magazine: "I'm really chuffed and honoured that they want me back. I lovr working on 'EastEnders'. I love the people, the speed of it, the whole vibe of the place.

"I really miss work; I'm a bit of a workaholic."
