Justin Lee Collins' show 'Bring Back' has been axed.
The 34-year-old funnyman has been told the expensive Channel 4 series - which reunites stars from the past - will have to be pulled after ratings dramatically dropped.
It's a shame but Justin's a big boy - he knows how it all works.
A source said: "'Bring Back' is not a cheap enterprise so understandably Channel 4 wanted big ratings.
"It's not been a flop by any means but in the current climate the bosses need to spend wisely. In the old days when the channel was more flush it would have survived."
Early episodes of the programme - which included the reunion of cast members from TV shows 'Grange Hill' and 'Dallas' - pulled in over two million viewers and a special edition which celebrated the success of 'The A-Team' drew in three million.
However, the last instalment, 'Bring Back Star Trek' - which featured the legendry Spock actor Leonard Nimoy - struggled to gain just 1.4million views, despite coinciding with the release of the latest cult sci-fi film.
The source added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It's a shame but Justin's a big boy - he knows how it all works."
This news will be a blow for the comic as he was working on plans to reunite the stars of the popular 80s children's movie 'The Goonies'.
A Channel 4 spokesperson confirmed there are no plans for another 'Bring Back' episode but added they wouldn't completely rule out doing another of the "special event shows".
