Justin Lee Collins is set to star in 'Chicago'.

The TV funnyman jokingly auditioned for the hit West End show, singing its famous hit 'All That Jazz', as part of a new series in which he tries out several unlikely careers.

Even though he has a strong Bristol accent, Justin impressed producers and was stunned when they offered him a role as Amos Hart, the long-suffering husband of murderess Roxie Hart.

Even Jerry Springer who is playing Billy Flynn at the moment went through the same audition process as me. It was very real.

He said: "It's a triumph. It was one of the best working experiences of my life. The producers in America asked me to go back and do a full run. I'd do it in a heartbeat but I need to clear some space.

"They do eight shows a week and I would have to commit to doing a minimum of eight weeks. But if they still want me next year I'll do it."

Justin admits it was along process to discover whether he had been successful with his audition.

He told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "They have a lot of guest stars but everyone has to audition and the decisions are made by the producers in America so it was a long wait to find out.

"Even Jerry Springer who is playing Billy Flynn at the moment went through the same audition process as me. It was very real."
