Lacey Turner has joined the cast of BBC One drama 'Love Life'.

The ex-'EastEnders' actress - who played Stacey Slater in the soap and recently appeared in supernatural drama 'Being Human' - is reportedly set to team up with former 'Doctor Who' stars David Tennant and Billie Piper for the programme.

It features some of our very best acting talent working in a way we've never seen on screen from them before, using improvisation to push the boundaries of each story, to get right to the heart of the truth.

Vicky McClure - who won a Bafta for her role in 'This is England 86' last year - will also star in the romantic drama, which is set in the seaside town of Margate, Kent, and will feature five overlapping stories created by writer and director Dominic Savage.

She will portray Serena, the first love of David's character Nick and the older sister of Lacey's alter-ego Michelle as the programme tells the tale of five contemporary love stories involving five people.

Jane Horrocks, Ashley Walters and David Morrissey are also in line to star in the programme, which is a "complete first" for the channel because it features a number of improvised scenes.

BBC drama chief Ben Stephenson said: "This is a complete first in TV drama on BBC One: a serial made through improvisation.

"It features some of our very best acting talent working in a way we've never seen on screen from them before, using improvisation to push the boundaries of each story, to get right to the heart of the truth."
