Laila Rouass Voted Off Strictly

Laila Rouass has been voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The actress and her dance partner Anton du Beke will miss out on next week's semi-final after they were booted from the BBC One show last night (05.12.09) following harsh criticism from the judges.

Judge Bruno Toniolo told her: "I've never seen such a mess in the quarter finals.

''A deflated balloon would have had more rhythm."

The brunette beauty was joined in the bottom two by 'Hollyoaks' star Ricky Whittle - who had received the highest score of the night.

Ricky will be joined in the semi-final next week by actress Ali Bastian and TV presenter Chris Hollins.

The muscular hunk was praised throughout the show for his "perfect" dance moves and received the highest point score.

After Laila's departure was announced, her posh partner jokingly claimed Ricky was to blame.

Anton teased: "Why couldn't you go wrong a few times?"

Despite reports of a rift between the pair, professional dancer Anton also praised Laila on her hard work.

He said: "She's been an absolute joy to be with. Not once has she moaned or complained."

Laila received just 59 point out of a possible 100 last night.

After one routine, she told host Tess Daly she felt she should have done better.

Laila siad: "I do think I should be able to do a better Latin dance at this stage."

During this week's quarter-finals, ballerina Darcey Bussell made a guest appearance on the judging panel, where she will stay for the remainder of the series.

Next week, the semi-finalists will perform the Argentine tango.
