Natalie Cassidy was "bordering on having an eating disorder."
The ex-'EastEnders' actress said she "became obsessed" with losing weight shortly after she left the BBC soap and plunged to 110lbs - a UK dress size eight, down from a size 16 - for a weight loss DVD.
Natalie, 25, said: "I really wasn't well. I was bordering on having an eating disorder. I became silly with my eating.
I have to cut it out of my mind
"For lunch I'd have an omelette made with just egg white, or I'd have half an apple. I became obsessed. There were nights when I'd go out for dinner and then I'd go home and take laxatives because I didn't want the food inside me.”
The star - who played Sonia Fowler in 'EastEnders' - added her slender figure never made her happy, but she felt under pressure to remain thin.
She added to Britain's Heat magazine: "I wasn't miserable, but people say being skinny makes you happy and it didn't for me. I am under an immense amount of pressure over my weight and if I thought about it, then I wouldn't be sitting here now. I have to cut it out of my mind."
Since finishing dieting, Natalie's weight has partly returned but she is now planning on embarking on a healthy eating regime and vowed to find a weight which makes her feel happy. She also said she is much happier with her present size 14 figure.
