Natalie Cassidy hit "rock bottom" when her "second mum" Wendy Richard died.

The ex-'EastEnders' star has revealed she considered turning to bulimia after her co-star died, as it brought back a number of her personal problems.

She told Britain's Heat magazine: "The day Wendy died I hit rock bottom. Wendy was my second mum, and if I'm honest, that's when it all affected me. I thought, 'I need to see someone about my mum, mistakes I've made in my life and regrets.'

"My mum died seven years ago, then I made some bad choices and I lost myself. Things got so bad I tried to make myself sick at one point, but I just couldn't do it.

"I wasn't well. I wouldn't call it a breakdown, but I was under so much pressure I think I was on the brink of one. I did see a therapist for a little while, about lots of different things.

Natalie added she believes Wendy is watching her from heaven and has vowed not to forget her.

Telling how Wendy gave her a lucky necklace, she added: "It's supposed to bring you luck with your career and ever since I've had it, I've had nothing but happiness, luck, jobs and money coming in.

"I swear to God she's looking after me."

Natalie - who revealed last week she was bordering on having an eating disorder last year - has also vowed to sort out her diet to ensure she's eating healthily.

She said: "At the moment, my brain isn't in the right state of mind to lose weight - I can't allow myself to go back there because I go to extremes. I have to find a healthy balance. I will find it - it's just taking time."
