Nicolette Sheridan is leaving 'Desperate Housewives'.
The British born actress will finish her role as Edie Britt at the end of season five, show bosses have confirmed. Her final scenes will air in the US in April.
Meanwhile, Nicolette's co-star Dana Delany has admitted she had doubts about taking on the role of Katherine Mayfair in 2007
A spokesperson for Nicolette, 45, said: "She had a great time on the show and is looking forward to her next project."
Although no details of her exit storyline have been confirmed, it is believed Nicolette's character - one of the original residents of Wisteria Lane - will be killed off.
It is rumoured Edie will be involved in an accident involving her car and electrical wire after discovering her husband Dave Williams - played by Neal McDonough - is trying to murder her.
Meanwhile, Nicolette's co-star Dana Delany has admitted she had doubts about taking on the role of Katherine Mayfair in 2007.
She explained: "I had done a TV show called 'Pasadena' and I thought it was too similar to the role I had in that series. I don't think of jobs in terms of career. I look in terms of what excites me. I felt I had already played that role. Then it became a huge hit. I looked at it and said, 'Did I make a big mistake?' ''
