'X Factor' singer Olly Murs has broken his hand.

The reality TV favourite - who laid low with a throat infection last week - smacked a punch bag so hard on Tuesday night (10.11.09) he cracked a bone in his hand and has had to have it set in plaster.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "He was mucking around with a punchbag when he gave himself the fracture. He was really going at it."

Olly - who is presently ahead of rivals Danyl Johnson and Joe McElderry - is now favourite to win the reality show with bookmakers offering odds of 2/1 on him winning.

Meanwhile, show judge Dannii Minogue has reportedly patched up her earlier feud with show boss Simon Cowell after he refused to save her act Lucie Jones from exiting the show on Sunday (08.11.09).

Dannii had reportedly refused to talk to Simon since the incident, but he patched things up in phone call on Tuesday (10.11.09).

A source said: "He stopped short of apologising, for his decision but made it clear he didn't mean to upset Dannii."

Meanwhile Lucie is said to be having to turn down work because of her exclusive contract with 'The X Factor'.

Her agent said the singer had been offered a role in a BBC drama, a West End musical as well as major record deals since leaving the show, but was forced to say no to everyone.
