Ozzy Osbourne was "stoned" on drugs during the three years of filming reality show 'The Osbournes'.

The 60-year-old rocker's wife, Sharon, revealed the former Black Sabbath singer was battling drugs during filming for the MTV reality series, which followed his family's lives between 2002 and 2005.

She said: "As Ozzy will tell you, the whole three years that we were filming he was stoned. He wasn't sober for one day."

The singer insists he only smoked drugs after the camera crew had finished filming for the day.

Every show that was on there... I couldn't tell you what the time of day it was. I used to do a lot of prescription drugs as well.

When asked when he would take illegal substances, he told BBC Radio 2: "Not when I was actually filmed but when the day would end, I'd go in my little bunker and smoke a pipe and have about a case of beer every day.

However, Ozzy says he tried to counteract his abuse of unspecified substances with early-morning exercise.

He said: "I'd give myself some goodness and get up early in the morning and go jogging for six miles."

'The Osbournes' reality show focused on the lives of Ozzy, Sharon and two of their three children, Kelly, now 24, and Jack, now 23.

TV presenter Kelly recently completed a stint in an Oregon rehab clinic for an addiction to painkillers.
