Oswalt Leaves Beach Lane

Stand-up comedian Patton Oswalt has quit Matthew Broderick's new sitcom Beach Lane - just days after he was cast.

An announcement on Monday (12Apr10) revealed the funnyman had won a starring role in the comedy alongside the Ferris Bueller's Day Off star and comic actress Kristen Johnston.

Oswalt was set to portray a slacker who runs a flagging small-town newspaper and hires Broderick, who plays a journalist, to revive the company.

Producers are said to have offered Oswalt another role in the show but it is unclear if he will accept, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
