'Hollyoaks' newcomer Rob Norbury keeps forgetting his soap family aren't actually related to him in real life.

Rob Norbury keeps forgetting his 'Hollyoaks' family aren't actually related to him.

The hunky actor recently joined the Channel 4 soap as Riley Costello, and is spending so much time with his new colleagues, he often forgets they're not his real parents.

He said: "It's been weird. Every day we feel more like a real family, I go home and I'm like 'Oh yeah, this is my real dad actually'."

Rob's new family - consisting of former professional footballer dad Carl Costello (Paul Opacic), model mum Heidi (Kim Tiddy), younger brother Seth (Miles Higson) and sister Jasmine (Victoria Atkin) - recently followed his sibling Jem (Helen Russell Clark) into the village after buying The Dog in the Pond pub.

Rob is thrilled with his new co-stars, and admits it "mental" to have such a famous screen mother.

He explained to the official 'Hollyoaks' website: "I get on really well with them all, especially Paul. Paul and I both like a bit of football or a bit of racing, anything like that. Then obviously Miles is like the younger brother, so I keep an eye out for him. And then there's Kim, the mum... mental! Great mental, but mental!

"Then you've got Victoria and Helen, who are both sound. Helen's part of the extended family, but she's been in a lot of scenes with us at the moment, and she's been really good with us. Especially because she's been here a little bit longer than us, so we get a bit of advice on how to do things from her."

Rob's first scene on 'Hollyoaks' airs tonight (21.07.10) on Channel 4.
