The Dark Knight
Batman film The Dark Knight has been nominated for a Producer Guild of America Awards.
With the Oscars only around the corner, the PGA’s are often said to be a good indication of who will be received an Academy Award. And when No Country For Old Men won top awards at first the PGA’s and then the Academy Awards last year, it would certainly seem the late Heath Ledger will receive some credit in the upcoming award season.
Other films competing for the top awards include Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon.
Man on Wire, Standard Operating Procedure and Trouble in the Water will compete for the PGA’s Best Documentary honour. Bolt, Kung Fu Panda, and Wall-E have been nominated for Producer of the Year in Animated Motion Pictures.
Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, The Office, 30 Rock, and Weeds will compete for the Danny Thomas Producer of the Year in Episode Television-Comedy. Boston Legal, Damages, Dexter, Mad Men, and Lost were amongst the nominations for Best drama.
The gongs will be handed out at the Hollywood Palladium on January 24th.
