Sammy Winward's 'comfortable' ex

'Emmerdale' star Sammy Winward has admitted while filming romantic scenes with ex-boyfriend Kelvin Fletcher brought back a feeling of ''deja vu'', the paid are ''very comfortable'' together.

'Emmerdale' actress Sammy Winward says filming romantic scenes with ex-boyfriend Kelvin Fletcher isn't awkward.

Despite the couple having dated in the past, the blonde beauty - whose character Katie Sugden used to be married to Kelvin's alter ego Andy Sugden in the ITV1 soap - has maintained while acting alongside her former flame evokes a sense of "deja vu", the pair are "very comfortable" together.

She explained: "There was a definite feeling of deja vu, but Kelvin and I managed to get back into it very quickly. We're very comfortable working together."

Sammy - who has a five-year-old daughter Mia with her ex-fiance, footballer David Dunn - revealed the pair's characters are set to spend a lot more time together after they accidentally end up in bed.

She told Soaplife magazine: "Emotions run high and they start kissing. Andy instigates it but Katie hardly pulls away. She thinks, 'Oh sod it! Why not?' And they end up in bed. She regrets it. She still cares for Andy but feels getting back with him just wouldn't work. Andy clearly wants it to be more than just a one-off.

"He's hurt when she tells him how she feels."
