Gino D'Acampo has been voted Britain's favourite reality TV star.

The Italian chef, who recently won 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here', beat off competition from multi-million selling singer Susan Boyle - who rose to fame on 'Britain's Got Talent' in April - to claim a third of the votes in the poll by MSN Entertainment.

It's put a real dampener on the whole thing. I had no idea I was going to cause such uproar.

Susan came second in the competition, while dance troupe Diversity came third.

However, all may not be so well for Gino himself, as he currently faces animal cruelty charges in Australia for killing a rat and making a risotto with it while on the reality TV show last month.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Literally 45 minutes after being crowned King of the Jungle I was in a police station and they wanted me in a cell.

"It's put a real dampener on the whole thing. I had no idea I was going to cause such uproar.

"I'm sorry if I offended anybody but we did what we had to do to eat."
