Tom Baker is set to return to 'Doctor Who' in 2010, it has been claimed.
The 74-year-old actor - who played the Doctor from 1974 to 1981 - has reportedly been cast in an episode of the sci-fi show which will air in two years time.
A fan of the show, who claims to have inside knowledge on casting decisions, wrote on a message board: "Great news - Tom Baker has been cast to appear in 2010!"
It is unclear what role Tom - who is now famous for narrating hit UK comedy 'Little Britain' - would play in the show, but some fans are speculating he could appear in a flashback if the current Doctor, David Tennant, regenerates into another Time Lord.
The BBC and Tom Baker's representative could not be reached for comment on the report.
'Doctor Who' is no stranger to causing speculation.
Ahead of the last episode of the current series, bosses hinted one of the main characters would die, sending viewers into a frenzy as to which one it would be.
