Vinnie Jones is planning to help Paul Gascoigne by getting him to take part in a new reality TV show.
The soccer-star-turned-Hollywood actor is desperate to see Paul - who has struggled with an addiction to alcohol for years - return to health and is planning to kidnap the former soccer ace, who is nicknamed 'Gazza', and take him to a deserted island then film the pair of them living together for several weeks.
A source said: "Vinnie thinks it's terrible what Gazza has been going through and is convinced some tough love is needed.
The source added to Britain's the Sun newspaper: It will be a bit like a cross between 'Castaway' and 'Lost' with lots of survival tactics
"Vinnie loves hunting and fishing and reckons it does more to aid the soul than things like rehab. Gazza is a man's man so it should be up his street."
Vinnie, 44, is planning to teach Paul, 41, "survival tactics" on the show, which he believes will keep viewers glued to their seats.
The source added to Britain's the Sun newspaper: "It will be a bit like a cross between 'Castaway' and 'Lost' with lots of survival tactics. With Vinnie and Gazza together it will be full of surprises."
Producers have already discussed the idea with Paul's agents, and are keen for the show to be aired later this year once the football star is out of a rehabilitation clinic.
Vinnie's idea is the latest in a string of attempts to help Paul, who has been in and out of treatment facilities throughout his life.Earlier this month, he briefly appeared on controversial Channel 4 documentary 'Surviving Gazza' which followed his family's attempts to help him.Although he was initially furious with the show's producers for allowing his son to appear, he eventually promised to give up alcohol for good.He said: "Drink and drugs nearly killed me, not once but a few times. The difference this time is I know I can never drink again or it will kill me."
