William Roache thinks Ken and Deirdre Barlow are "soulmates".
The actor's 'Coronation Street' alter ego was amazed to see footage of his wife (Anne Kirkbride) in a clinch with Lewis Archer (Nigel Havers) recently, and despite the couple racking up a number of infidelities throughout their marriage, the show stalwart can't see them ever ending up with anyone else.
I can see them living their lives out together - but there will always be problems along the way for those two.
He said: "Ken and Deirdre are soulmates, obviously. They've both been around the block a few times. I think they shouldn't inflict themselves on anyone else.
"I can see them living their lives out together - but there will always be problems along the way for those two."
William also doesn't think the latest problem in their marriage will cause any serious problems.
He added: "It's nothing serious. It's more of a humiliation for everyone concerned. They are still together in a manner of speaking, and it's just like a family tiff really.
"So they will be able to get through it."
