It's the news all of Glamnation suspected but didn't actually want to hear.

Adam Lambert has bowed out of his role as Elliott 'Starchild' Gilbert on Glee with some final scenes and a performance alongside Chris Colfer which is to air in tomorrow night's episode of the show.

Throughout his time on the show he's taken on Lady Gaga's 'Marry The Night' as well as Supremes classic 'The Happening' and Heart's 'Barracuda', and his final song will come in the form of A Great Big World's 'Rockstar'.

His version of the track alongside Curt - co-star Chris Colfer - can be heard below.

No news yet on whether Adam will return for the sixth and final series of Glee, but it has been confirmed that the star is currently working on his third studio album, and preparing to embark on a summer sold-out tour of America with Queen.
