Arrow fans have been calling for Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak to get it on for some time now, and the pair went on their first official date in tonight's season three premiere, in what should have been a romantic and enjoyable night out.

Unfortunately things didn't go quite as smoothly as the pair had hoped, and with new face Ray Palmer on the scene, could their potential romance be over before it really even went anywhere? There's always the chance we could have a messy love triangle, but something tells me Ollie isn't one to vie for the attention of a lady who's not 100% into him.

It's not a relationship that's ever happened in the comic book world, and we do know how much the Arrow creators love to try and stick to their comic book lore, with a few twists and turns thrown in for good measure. That doesn't mean Olicity can't happen - it just probably means that if it ever does get further than an explosive dinner date, it won't be forever. But we can all hope.

After that season two finale fake-out where we saw Oliver pull his "I love you" card with Felicity - only for it to have been a trick to get Slade to capture her - the fans are owed something, anything! Even Diggle can read the heat between the pair and is rooting for the two to get together.

Their chemistry isn't forced with one another - their natural growth is reminiscent of a real-life relationship forming and it's this that the fans really resonate with. Coupled with the incredible warmth both Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards share on-screen, it's screaming out to be played with.

With episode five of the new season titled 'The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak', could there be demons in her past that make her and Ollie more relatable than ever before? We don't think the writers are going to let this one go for quite some time yet...
