The cast of the forthcoming second series of Broadchurch are pictured in some new images released by ITV, ahead of its premiere in the New Year.

Returning to the channel on January 5, a new case is to be taken up by DI Alex Hardy (David Tennant), who's desperate for help once more from his former partner, DC Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman).
Anything else surrounding the series has been kept closely underwraps, but a full-length trailer was revealed following a lengthy Twitter and social media campaign.
