Celebrity Big Brother kicked off tonight, welcoming 15 new famous faces into one of the most infamous reality TV compounds around. But who went into the house? Get a little refresher below…

Amelia Lily, 22

Famous for her time on The X Factor UK as well as smashing the charts with her debut single ‘You Bring Me Joy’, Amelia thinks she’s going to be a “team player” when she’s in the house, but somebody who’s “up for a laugh and party” as well as being “caring”.

Brandi Glanville, 44

This former cast member from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is known for getting into some incredibly testing confrontations in front of the cameras. In CBB, she’s hoping to test herself, “to try and control the temper that I have a reputation for!” We’ll see how she gets on.

Chad Johnson, 29

Rising to fame just last year as part of American reality series The Bachelorette, Chad quickly became the villain of the show, but has continued to shine since his appearance and been given the title of the show’s “most famous character”. He says he’ll be friends with “everyone, but I’ll take no s**t!”

Derek Acorah, 67

This TV psychic is best known for his time on paranormal series Most Haunted, and he goes into CBB looking forward to seeing how he’ll be able to adapt to living with people he’s never met for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He describes himself as “a lover of life, generous of nature and kind.” Interesting, but CBB only asked for three words!

Helen Lederer, 62

This English actress and comedian is of course best known for her time in comedy series Absolutely Fabulous, where she played the dippy Catriona. Helen’s most looking forward to meeting new people and “hopefully having a laugh” in the house.

Jemma Lucy, 29

As an MTV reality star, Jemma has already shown a lot of what she has to offer, having been on Ex on the Beach more than once. Now though she wants to meet some new boys and girls in CBB, after being “a huge fan of the show for a long time”.

Jordan Davies, 25

Best known for his role on Ibiza Weekender as well as his appearances on MTV’s Ex on the Beach, this self-proclaimed “Welsh-wonder” says he’s a “sexual and flirty” character. He didn’t want any men in the house, and would have preferred to instead be living with 15 female housemates.

Karthik Nagesan, 35

Following his time on The Apprentice, Karthik was fired on the spot by Lord Alan Sugar after taking home one of the worst results in the show’s history, selling just £188 compared to his rival team’s £40,000+ result. Despite that, he was a fan favourite due to his personality and overwhelming monobrow.

Marissa Jade, 32

This American model and actress caused a bit of a stir in the final season of VH1’s Mob Wives, getting into verbal tussles with many of her fellow cast mates. Known for her attitude and altercations, she’s excited to “stimulate my brain and mind” during the challenges in the house.

Paul Danan, 38

Beginning his career in the spotlight with a role in Hollyoaks, Paul was arguably at the peak of his career when he went into two series of Celebrity Love Island. While there, he slept with somebody on television and enjoyed some meltdowns and blazing arguments with his fellow contestants; this time round though he says he’ll be “kind, polite, interesting, hilarious at times and a good listener”.

Sandi Bogle, 51

This Gogglebox legend is the mum of four children, grandmother to several grandkids and is even the cousin of Naomi Campbell! Looking forward to the “challenge” and “experience” in the house, Sandi says she’s “full of energy, entertaining [and] memorable”.

Sam Thompson, 24

At just 24, Sam is one of this year’s youngest contestants. Hailing from E4 reality show Made in Chelsea, this stud is newly single following a relationship with Tiffany Watson, and describes himself in “three words” as “Banter. Saurus. Rex.”

Sarah Harding, 35

Finally, a member of Girls Aloud is heading into the Celebrity Big Brother house! Needing no introduction, Sarah has had incredible chart success and, following the band’s split, has recently finished a leading role in Ghost the Musical on the West End. She hopes the public will see “a softer side” to her in the show.

Shaun Williamson, 52

Best known for playing Barry Evans in EastEnders, more than 14 million fans tuned in to watch Barry be pushed to his death on the show back in 2004. Aside from his soap career, he’s carved a successful stage career and is now excited to “work as a team” and “meet new people of all ages and walks of life” in CBB!

Trisha Paytas, 29

This American internet sensation has recently raked in over a billion views on her main YouTube channel. She tasted her first hint of success in 2009 when she portrayed Jessica Simpson in an Eminem music video, and she’s also worked alongside Amy Winehouse and The All American Rejects.

Celebrity Big Brother continues each night on Channel 5.
