Criminal Minds - Won't Get Fooled Again

21-09-2006 08:06

Gideon and his team must track down a copycat bomber terrorising a community.

After two pipe bombs explode in a Palm Beach neighbourhood in one morning, Gideon and his team are called in to work on a profile of the person responsible.

The first bomb killed an old lady; the second maimed a businessman.

Both bombs were delivered to the victims’ doorsteps in parcels, and had the same extraordinarily delicate detonators – which means that the bomber carefully delivered them himself.

Despite the FBI’s efforts, the local media have already picked up the news – and inadvertently catch a third blast during a live report.

While Morgan stays behind to await receipt of the bomb fragments for analysis, the rest of the BAU team head to Palm Beach.

On the way, they discuss the case.

How are the three victims connected?

It transpires that Clurman, the second victim, was an investor who lost a lot of people a lot of money in a real estate deal gone bad.

Did one of the people take out their anger on Clurman?

It’s an interesting theory, but Gideon thinks it’s too early to think about motives.

“Then where do we start?” asks Elle.

“From the beginning,” replies Gideon.

“What do we know about bombers?” They know that bombers are mostly men, loners with a criminal past.

Clurman was the only male victim – could he have been on his way to deliver his bomb when it went off?
